It’s been quite a little while since I did a non-review post. This week is the biggest convention in Newfoundland is this week, I mean (of course) Sci-Fi on the Rock! Incredibly already 11 years old, this year it will at it’s new home the Shearton Hotel (in St. John’s, Newfoundland, if you’re not from around here). I won’t get into all the guests, but I’ll say that in particular I’m looking forward to seeing Ethan Phillips, Jewel Staite and the always hilarious Fat Apollo. It will have all the usual great panels, artists, vendors, authors and of course wonderful costumes that make conventions so much fun (here in NL cos-play has really caught on, we even have people travel here just to enter our costume contest.)
Also worth checking out is my favorite Newfoundland artist, Kevin Kendall. He did a great job on the cover for my third book and is always at his table for a chat or to sell (or make you) some great artwork.
Which brings me to my part, this year I return in all my table glory (please come to check out my third vampire novel “The Gathering Dark“) I will be on the schedule doing my totally re-vamped (like that?) “Adventures with Vampires and Publishing” talk. This year it will be Sunday April 30th at 3:30pm in the Plymouth Room. If you have no idea how to find that (I don’t and it’s my talk!), that’s what maps are for.
As always I am looking forward to attended panels (well probably just one besides my own), meeting guests and interacting with “con friends” (people I only see at conventions) and all the other great people who come by my table. I hope you’ll come to see my talk and be a part of the convention experience. It’s always a great time, hope to see you there!
