Initial Thoughts:
I’ve never been the biggest Deadpool fan. I only started reading the comics when I heard they were making a movie. So I read some, like a bunch but still never got very excited before the movie. Of course the first Deadpool was so funny (and so well done) that I went back read more comics (newer ones got better) and got pretty excited to see Ryan return to a character he has already done a signature portray of.
Main Points:
This is movie certainly has similar elements with the first one but also lots of differences. It’s more dark and even more violent. Its also a little more gory and sadly, not as funny consistently. A lot of stuff happens here so I’ll make this spoiler free by not saying much. Ryan (and others) are excellent, as good before for sure. The story is also good and of course I have to mention Josh Brolin. He is great as Cable, he’s just become an important part of Marvel, playing Thanos and Cable.
Excellent special effects, great music, lots of action, it’s a really good time. I certainly hope there is a 3, I can’t imagine anyone besides Ryan doing Deadpool and I know there’s more fun to be had.
Final Thoughts:
Please don’t bring kids to this movie, it’s super violent and sometimes gory. I think ages 17+, but its up the parent/guardian of course. I give it s a solid 8 out of 10 and big recommendation to any Marvel/Deadpool/Ryan fan. I would have liked to have laughed more throughout but the real big ones in places makes up for it. Never a major award winning but still a good time and the movies. Oh I will say stay for 2 post credit scenes, they are SUPER and really made me laugh. Also watch for some great and surprise cameos.
